Nurse or teacher?

Ever since I was little I’d dreamed of being a teacher. Having my own classroom, my own class, helping with children’s education and watching them grow into actual people.

When it came to applying for university it was like all of my dreams had changed. I applied to study mental health nursing.

I completed my 3 years of study and qualified in 2012. I’ve been working as a nurse since then.

A forensic job in the UK and currently a position at a private hospital. I’ve been promoted from RN to Associate Nurse Unit Manager  and then again to Nurse Unit Manager of Intake.

I’ve learnt a lot, and met some incredible people along with helping as many people as I possibly have been able to.

But recently, I’ve been having a ‘quarter life crisis’ and am considering going back to university to study Teaching.

It’s such a scary but exciting thing to think about. I’ve been trying to research as much as I can into what I’d need to do, where to apply, the costs etc.

Have you ever changed your mind about something that’s so big? How did you decide? Did you use a list of pros and cons?

I’d love to hear from you all!
